Dassia is a lively resort popular to all ages. It has a good nightlife, bars, a few discos. Restaurants and tavernas and fast food to suit all appetites .if you are on a budget there are plenty of economical tavernas to choose from. Supermarkets, pharmacy, doctors, butchers, atm machines, internet cafes, photo studio are a few of the luxuries of the dassia village. The long narrow beach has access from many side roads, it is lined by plush olive and pine trees. All sorts of water sports are available, waterskiing, banana boats, pedal boats, paragliding, scuba diving school, windsurfing. Speed boats are also for hire giving you the opportunity to explore wonderful beaches and deserted coves.dassia is an ideal spot for taking romantic walks along the bay and through the side streets. You can easily follow small inland roads from dassia through olive groves to discover more traditional, pretty corfu villages. The walks offer a wonderful photo opportunity for all adventurous visitors, and while you're out sightseeing, you can expect plenty from your summer holidays to dassia – it's near ipsos and close to old corfu town with its harbour, fortress, palace, churches, venetian streets, shops, restaurants, and bars….
Transportation is very easy from dassia, it gives you the opportunity to be able to explore the rest of the island. There is an excellent bus service running every 20 minutes to corfu town and regular services to other parts of the island. Car hire is reasonably priced and an ideal and cheap way to explore corfu. Taxis are plentiful and available 24 hours a day. Bike hire is another way to get around but a helmet and a large degree of common sense are necessary.

Things to see
The esplanade (liston square), one of the largest and most beautiful in greece. This is where official parades and religious processes take place. The buildings of the liston square resemble the architectural lines of rue de rivoli in paris and host a number of cafeterias, bars and restaurants.
The old fortress in the esplanade linked to the square by an iron bridge was built by the byzantine to protect the city and offers one of the most beautiful views of the town. Most of the surviving buildings, however, date of the period of the british rule. Today the old fortress besides hosting cultural events and concerts accommodates the military authority and part of the ionian university.
The new fortress (old port) built by the venetians in 1576 and completed by the french and the british boasts one of the most spectacular views of the old town and the old port.
Pontikonisi- mouse island. A monastery built on this tiny island.
The achellion- in 1890 the queen of austria- sissy after the loss of her only son builds this castle in gastouri. Its elegant structure abounded by statues, paintings and lavish gardens is now open to the public.
